The Script-A-Thon: A Unique Screenwriting Competition

scriptathon screenwriting competition

Recently the Script-A-Thon screenwriting competition asked me to put some information on my site about their event. Thinking many of you might be interested, here goes. Plus, one of the super awesome prizes is my Screenplay Notes Galore - an $849 value! What follows is (mostly) their wording.

Enter by June 30th, then write or rewrite throughout July. Plus, participate in live and online mini-events throughout the month. Then submit the final screenplay by August 7th to win awesome prizes.

The regular deadline for entry is June 30, 2010 with an entry fee of $25. You can still enter up until the final, late deadline on July 7th for $35.

Winning scripts will be read by agents from top agencies including Gersh and APA. The judges include Scott Rosenfelt (Home Alone), Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2), Steve Mazur (Liar, Liar), Doug Mankoff (Away from Her), and Danny Draven.

Grand Prize: Includes $500, a Professional Cast Reading of winning script, DVD Recording of that reading, a weekend ‘writer’s retreat’ in LA plus $250 travel voucher, a lifetime subscription to Movie Maker Magazine, A pass to the Great American Pitchfest, and much, much more!
